Wrapping Up

Finally!!! It was long and enjoyable tour?
I have found out many interesting and useful tools that I was not aware of.
I am not keen on meeting strangers online but I think the idea of being connected to the ones who has common interest is great concept.
Especially with teenagers, it can be difficult to interact with them comfortably.
But if we do share and 'connect' through social networks, it might help you to understand certain groups (eg Teenagers) and help you when you approach or interact with them.

Mashups

I really enjoy looking at photos and playing around with them.
It was fun editing and testing different effects included in Big Hun Labs.

Yahoo Question board & Podcast

As I have mentioned before, I do work in a Children's & Youth dept of busy library.
I think it is both convenient and exciting having the Yahoo Questions board.
Posting a topic that you are interested in or something that you are curious about...
having a reliable response.
Oh in the yahoo, I have posted a question about the origin and concept of Childhood since I am writing an essay about it, I have been doing research myself.
I am curious to compare the results.

The course that I study has small proportion of lecture through Podcast. It is so much more convenient since you can access it and listen to it at your convenience.
You can also listen to it again... etc.

It was just great!

Del.icio.us and LibraryThing

I think they are both very useful and saves a lot of time.
and by looking at number of people engaged with the site, you know how reliable some
websites are.
And I also like the idea having the website as an image next to the name of the site.
it is like having a picture of book cover on the web catalogue.

You tube

I liked the layout of "Video coolness at my library".
And although I really like the idea of having the book cover as link, I was disappointed to see the amazon website.
I expected to see a reliable book review.
The embedded clip above caught my attention with the title.
5 ways to save the world...
It is a simpler and rough version of Al Gore's inconvenient truth, but I though it
it had much higher chance of being viewed by the audience, because of its accessibility.
I did not find google video particularly more interesting. Both youtube and goodle video were similar... and unless there is improvement, or a distinctive feature, it is unlikely for the users to prefer one over the other?

Wiki

I haven't been able to work on Learning 2.0
It is time to catch up!
I have to admit, I did not appreciate the idea of wiki. Yes it can be useful and it can be more efficient way to communicate. But I still doubt the reliability. It is just a good quick reference for general curiosity...
I guess it really depends on the contributor and your personal interests.
I am not a regular 'wiki' user but Mint Wiki was really impressive.

Flickr & Blog this

I have created Flickr account recently. I use it as... kind of online photo album.
Thesedays... I do not develop most of my photos and they just sit in my hard drive.
With flickr, you have a back up copy of your photos and you can to look at them more often.
I also have linked the my blog to the flickr account. So when I see an image I want to share with
people who look at my blog I can do that just easily.
